This trip is about extremes. The 7 day Kenya Budget Safari will bring you to the extremes of wildlife experience as you will visit the major parks in Keya, which are separated by extreme distances. Visit the Maasai Mara for a rich wildlife experience, then Lake Naivasha for the birds and landscape features. A culmination of the tour is the Amboseli National Park where you get to rub shoulders with the huge herds of elephant as you behold the view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Maasai Mara

Our driver shall pick you from your hotel and you shall head to Maasai Mara game reserve, a renowned tourist destination, and a world wonder. A delicious meal awaits you in Narok, a town in Maasai Land.

On arrival, you shall check in your lodge, have a little rest, and later on, drive to the park for an afternoon game drive till dusk.

Day 2: Mara full day

Maasai Mara never disappoints. It’s the only park in Kenya where you can spot The Big Five in one trip. Other animals you’ll find are warthogs, crocodiles, Oribi, hippopotamus, wildebeest, hyenas, antelopes, Maasai giraffes, East African cheetah, and many others.

The drive will commence early in the morning before sunrise, as it is the best time to witness the nocturnal animal behaviors. Later you will return to the lodge, have breakfast, and then drive back to the park for the rest of the game drive.

Another reason that makes the Mara a distinguished tourist destination is the great wildebeest migration that happens between July and October. If you visit then, you will witness millions of wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of Thomson gazelles and zebra, migrating to Maasai Mara.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru

Early morning, there will be a short game drive, just to bid the Mara goodbye. Breakfast will be served afterwards and then we will proceed to the next adventure. Lake Nakuru, which forms part of Lake Nakuru National Park, is known for its ability to attract numerous species of birds, especially the flamingoes. From a distance, you can see the whitish pinkish layer floating on the sparkling blue liquid. Make sure you observe this feature at sunset, it’s magical!!
In the evening, you will be ushered to you lodge, have dinner, then retire for the night.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha

You’ll have an early morning drive before you return for breakfast, afterward; you begin the journey to Lake Naivasha. We’ll arrive in time for a late lunch. Explore Lake Naivasha by taking an afternoon boat ride and make your way to the Crescent Island in the middle of the lake.

Crescent Island is home to numerous herbivores but you can walk around the island and get closer to them at an extra cost.

The distinct scent from the forest, the view and the sounds of birds will have a hypnotic effect that you will just feel relaxed. Make sure you rest because the next destination is a long way ahead of you.

Day 5: Drive to Amboseli

This will be a drive of a lifetime, full of unfolding panorama. Though you may not see any wild animals; this will be a whirlwind tour of Kenya’s physical features, towns and landmarks. The trip to Amboseli will ensure you cross at least five counties. You will have lunch en route.

On arrival, you will be escorted to your lodge, freshen up, and then we will advice you on the arrangements for dinner, and the full day game of the Amboseli National Park, on the next day.

Day 6: Full Day Amboseli Exploration

This will be a day full of exploration. The park’s ecosystem supports a variety of wildlife species like the elephants, cape buffaloes, cheetahs, lions, blue wildebeest, spotted hyenas, giraffes, zebras, and many others. The territory is covered with swamps, a seasonal lake, and mountainside vegetation.

Watch out for the observational hill, strategically placed to enable you to view the landscape and wildlife as a whole, as you enjoy the beautiful sunset at the Kilimanjaro.

Watch out for the Observation hill, which offers a clear overview of the park, from the swampy areas to the wildlife, and also the Lake Amboseli.

Apart from the elephants, Amboseli is adorned with other wild species like the Jackals, baboons, cheetahs, buffalos, Lions, Hyenas, hippopotamus, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, among others.

The evenings at the Amboseli are glorious, as the golden rays of the setting sun behold your sight!

Day 7: drive back to Nairobi

In case you did not get enough of the Amboseli experience, don’t worry. Arrangements for an optional morning game drive will be made. Enjoy the drive, and afterward, you will have a drive back to Nairobi to finalize the trip.

Accommodation: basic
